Thermal System Controls Engineer (w/m/d)

Location: Ulm

Start: ab sofort

Tasks:

  • Manage the setup and testing of controls logic for thermal systems operation modes (e.g. coolant and refrigerant loops) in battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty vehicles
  • Collaborate with senior specialists in thermal architecture engineering, simulation, and controls teams to bridge the gap in the development of thermal systems and controls HW/SW engineering
  • Define controls logic and contribute to the calibration of controls datasets in the vehicle
  • Conduct in-vehicle calibration of controls to optimize thermal performance and energy efficiency
  • Ensure seamless integration of controls strategies into the overall vehicle architecture
  • Spearhead efforts to enhance the efficiency of thermal systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Mechatronic, Controls, IT, Thermodynamics
  • Several years of experience in automotive testing; vehicle test driving experience is a plus
  • Some years of experience in thermal management (coolant / refrigerant loops) and/or controls engineering within the automotive is a plus
  • Proven ability to problem solve with very good practical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English are mandatory
  • This job requires availability on-site, due to working on vehicles
