Thermal Systems Architecture Engineer (w/m/d)

Location: Ulm

Start: ab sofort

Tasks:

  • Define the architecture of thermal systems (e.g. coolant, refrigerant) for battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty vehicles
  • Implement strategies to minimize electrical consumption of the thermal systems, to contribute to maximize the vehicle range
  • Drive initiatives to optimize the initial cost of thermal systems without compromising thermal and electrical performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration into the overall vehicle architecture
  • Support testing initiatives, troubleshooting, data analysis and performance improvements
 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Computational Engineering with focus on thermodynamics; PhD is a plus
  • Several years of experience in thermal systems architecture engineering, including 1-d simulations, sizing of components and systems
  • Some years of experience in automotive thermal management systems, HVAC, and heat pumps
  • In-depth knowledge of electric vehicle architectures and interactions of other components or systems with the thermal system
  • Strong foundation in principles of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, etc.
  • High level of independent judgment, structured analysis, presentation of results and decision making
