Functional Safety Engineer (w/m/d)

Location: Ulm

Start: ab sofort

Tasks:

  • Support functional safety activities and collaboration between our partners, suppliers, and internal functional safety team
  • Contribute to the development of hardware and software functional safety system requirements
  • Define system safety mechanisms and develop functional safety concepts according to ISO 26262 standards
  • Conduct hazard analysis, define safety concepts, and perform DFMEA for relevant systems
  • Support functional safety validation tests and ensure compliance with safety requirements
    Define functional safety interfaces between project partners and generate necessary safety documentation
  • Implement and optimize functional safety processes and tools to ensure world-class safety standards
 

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in vehicle hardware and embedded systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical, or Software
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 26262 and experience developing and delivering the major work products of a functional safety program; Formally trained and certified in ISO 26262 is a big plus
  • Knowledge of ISO 21448 / SOTIF is desired
  • Deep understanding of automotive hardware and software development processes, including V-Model and verification/validation frameworks
  • Proficiency in DFMEA, FMEDA, and FTA analysis methods
  • Familiarity with functional safety tools such as Ansys Medini and APIS IQ, as well as requirements management tools like Jama and JIRA
